• Production of Value-Added Products (zeolite) from coal fly ash Aug 2019-till date
(Received funding worth INR 180k from Govt. of Karnataka through New-age Incubation Network) Extracted ~70% Silica from coal fly ash by alkaline extraction followed by acidic precipitation at 100 C
& produced value-added products like Detergents, Silica gel, Zeolite, Cement Binder, Water filtration, etc., and the project will be completed before march 2020.
• Production of ETHANOL from cellulose (Team size – 2): Made sustainable utilization of waste newspapers for extraction of cellulose eventually giving rise to manufacturing technique for production of ethanol to be used as a bio fuel. Feb 2018 – Apr 2018
• Hexavalent Chromium Cr (VI) Reduction (Team size - 4): Reduced carcinogen in Cr (VI) using culture of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (82% efficiency) &Pseudomonas fluoresces (72% efficiency), Jun 2018 – Nov 2018
• Carbon Capture using Graphene as an Adsorptive Material (Team size – 2): Conducted a research project on the particle application of graphene to be used as an adsorbent in an axially stacked manner aiding in the adsorptive property instillation for carbon capture. Jun 2019 – Nov 2019.
• Production of Cellulose Nano Crystals and Fibers using Ball Milling Technology (Team size – 2): Utilized bamboo shoots as principle raw material to be subjected to calculated amounts of milling in order to extract cellulose nano crystals and fibers finding range of application in composite material production, sanitation products and biomedical applications.
