Director – South East Asia & India (2008 – May 2020) Optiware / Aptean

As the regional director for Optiware South East Asia (SEA), I am responsible to develop and manage Optiware’s Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) businesses and partners in countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam & India. Over the last 11 years I have built a strong Optiware’s EAM customer base and achieved a robust YOY growth rate and annual recurring revenue. Today Optiware’s EAM system is the leading system in SEA and achieved the highest customer retention rate. In year 2008 I have started with a nominal EAM team and today I have nurtured and build a strong sales and professional services team in this region located in Malaysia & India. Managing the BPR projects and i-POEM marketing functions of this company in the ASEAN region. Vast experience in public sector-based Business Process Reengineering (BPR) projects. Major projects participated are listed as below:

Lead the research and development of Mandat Tiara’s propriety methodology called i-POEM (Integrated Process based Organization Enhancement Model), a patent pending framework for deploying Business Process Reengineering projects.

Lead and developed i-POEM based software products to assist Business Process Reengineering works such as i-POEM Process Modeler, i-POEM Manpower Planner and i-POEM Process Manager. Managed the marketing team and the resellers for the i-POEM product suite. Organized and managed the training sessions for i-POEM for the regional customers. RESUME

Co-founded this start-up company. Aionos focus in e-Business activities. Managing and supervising a technical team, which is building e- commerce software, portal software and business-to-business software. Deployed some major enterprise systems for foreign clients. Scope of work covers conducting requirement study, application design and project management. Strategized and built the e-Business consulting and integration group to undertake industrial strength e-Business projects. Also formed an R&D team to undertake advance e-Business application development using technology such as Intelligent agents, business rule processing and data mining.

Founder, CEO (1997-2001)

IntelliWeb Sdn Bhd

Founded this advance software development company in Technology Park Malaysia. Built and successfully launched the first web email in Malaysia called WAUmail – voted the most popular site in Malaysia 1999. Managed a team of technical and marketing people who have successfully deployed some notable web sites and software in this country such as www.barbership.com. Established strategic business partnerships with companies from Finland, USA and India in the area of offshore software development and training.

Developed and marketed MaintPro, a Windows based Computerized Maintenance Management System for Malaysian, Thailand and Indonesian market. IntelliWeb is also the first company in the world to deploy an advanced based diagnostic system for General Electric gas turbines for Tenaga Nasional Berhad. My role in this project is as the principal architect and project manager.

Knowledge Based Systems (KBS) Consultant (1994-1996) IT Partners (M) Sdn Bhd

Co-founded the KBS group. KBS group focus is developing artificial intelligence-based application for utilities, telecommunication, manufacturing and finance industries using an AI software called Art*Enterprise from Inference Corporation - USA. Projects deployed are implementation of Intelligent help desk systems for Shell Sarawak, Shell Malaysia and Petronas, implementation of a Generator Maintenance System for Tenaga Nasional Berhad. Also deployed numerous KBS projects for blue-chips companies in Malaysia.

My roles in these projects were project management and technical leadership. I have also trained customers in Object-oriented programming, Object-oriented design and analysis and KBS application development workshops. Presented papers in leading KBS conference in this region.

Programmer (1990-1993)

Software Alliance Malaysia

Seconded to IBM Malaysia to develop knowledge-based applications

(KBS). Commissioned internal KBS projects for IBM. Collaborated with IBM USA to design and develop TIRS (IBM’s KBS tool). Developed the inference engine in C. Also involved porting TIRS system to IBM mainframe. Other roles are beta testing IBMS OS/2 operating system, developed a neural network simulator for IBM USA and developed GUI application modules for X-Windows.

Skills

Vast experience in software sales cycle which include sales forecasting process, lead to cash process, sales and technical team management. Well versed in Enterprise Asset Management system and production monitoring system. Implementation experience in API PRO EAM system and AXXOS OEE system.
