Job Responsibilities:
Operations:
- Overseeing the daily operation of vessels, monitoring of vessel performance and FO/GO/LO consumptions for compliance with applicable charterer’s requirements.
- Coordination of supplies and repair requirement. Involvement in vendor evaluation, approval and tendering process.
- Render expert technical and operational advice to ships to ensure reliable, safe and cost- efficient operations.

Finance:
- Budget preparation and monitoring of monthly variances while ensuring safe and efficient operation of vessels within the allocated budget.
- Optimise vessel operational efficiency and monitor performance to maintain zero down- time.
Safety:
- Monitoring effectiveness of implementation of the ISM code by periodical audits and ship inspections.
- Coordination and ensuring successful completion of Statutory surveys and certification for vessels under direct responsibility
- Prudent planning and foresight to mitigate prospective faults that may cause vessel downtime.
- Monitoring all details of dry-docking and major planned repairs and ensure conformance to the Maintenance System in place (SMS)
Regulatory:
- Ensure that vessels comply with all regulatory requirements including class and flag as well as certificates and surveys maintained up to date. Dry docking:
- Preparation and review of dry docking specifications and documentations prior to and post every dry-docking.
- Dry dockings:
o Three dockings at ZTHI Yard, China of 3 Capesize Bulk Carriers in 2017 o Docking at ODC, Duqm of a Suezmax Oil tanker in 2018 o Docking at Tersan Shipyard, Turkey of an MR tanker and 2 dockings at COSCO, Zhoushan of 2 MR tankers in 2019
- BWTS plants installed and commissioned on 2 vessels in 2019
- Two vessels converted from Oil tanker to Type III Oil/Chem in 2019
- Lead and negotiate price settlement in post-docking review meetings. Salient achievements in present role ashore:
- Successfully managed VLGC (LPG), Crude Oil tanker and Bulk Carrier during my experience as a Technical Superintendent.
- No detentions, serious crew injuries or LTAs during the past 2 years in vessels under direct responsibility.
- NIL deficiency of vessels subject to AMSA, China MSA and Tokyo MoU inspections on consistently.
- Successfully handed over and taken over bulk carriers and tankers on behalf of the management.
- Successful SIRE inspections with Shell, KOCH, ENOC and P66.
- Dry docking and special surveys for 7 ships- Bulk Carriers, Product tankers and Crude oil tankers- all completed within deadline and budget.

Professional highlights at sea:
Active involvement in final shipbuilding phase, sea trials and subsequent yard delivery of a 110,000 DWT Oil tanker at Hyundai Heavy Industries Shipyard at Ulsan, S.Korea in August 2010.
Drydocking experience at Colombo dockyard, Dalian shipyard (China) and Hindustan shipyard (India) as Second Engineer.
