To whom it may concern
I hold an L.L.B degree with 5 years experience as a Case Manager, Risk Coordinator, Roundtable Coordinator and Accident and Incident Investigator for the Occupational Health and Safety team of the Competition Tribunal.
My duties as a case manager included case management, drafting of tribunal decisions, as well as assisting of Tribunal Members with any research required during such process. As a Case Manager, I have worked on numerous high-profile cases that have been heard before the Tribunal. Many of the cases I have worked on have exposed me to extensive economic analysis for the past five years. In addition to this I received regular economics training both in-house and external through various competition law conferences and workshops such as the Annual Competition Law Conference, as well as the annual Competition Tribunal workshop, which exposed me to international jurisdictions as well as how they assess competition law cases. As a case manager I was also required to manage and assist employees within my division to ensure that the division runs smoothly.
I was also the Coordinator of the Roundtable sessions which required one to be a self-starter and to always think on your feet. These roundtable sessions were regular presentations to colleagues and senior management on any Competition Law and issues that might be of interest, be it at national international. Due to the very tight deadlines prescribed by the Tribunal Rules, I learnt to multi-task and work under extreme pressure conditions. I am also part of the Risk Committee as a Risk Coordinator. My duty is to ensure that I regularly identify, evaluate, manage and report risks to the committee. (Please find attached my appointment letter). I was also the Incident and Accident investigator for the Occupational and Health Safety Team of the Competition Tribunal. The time spent at the Tribunal equipped me with various skills that were required for my daily duties such as, analytical, presentation, project management, report writing, interpretation of statutes, research as well as exposure to all the Microsoft programmes.
I have also worked as an Investigator for the Enforcement and Exemptions Division at the Competition Commission of South Africa. My time at the Enforcement and Exemptions Division, exposed me to vast experience investigation techniques such as conducting of interviews/interrogations, field investigations, drafting of information request letters and summons, teleconferences, market researches, and liaising with relevant stakeholders. I carry with me a wide variety of skills that will ensure that I contribute immensely to any organization I were to work for.
I cannot wait to be part of your team.
