Liaison between construction and design engineering. Project includes NOx reduction related modifications to Detroit Edison Power Plants across their generating fleet. Total value of projects exceeds $700MM. Project employs over 700 craftsmen on site and 125 staff personnel. Responsible to insure all design engineering from all disciplines is provided on schedule and when needed. Supervised field engineering staff. Resolved field issues to support installation effort. In this role is a part of the core project management team, directly involved in cost estimating, scheduling, and cost control and schedule management. Reports directly to project director of project.
For the Monroe Power Station this project includes design and construction of SCR’s (Selective Catalytic Reduction Units) for each of the four 750MW coal fired power plants. Lead constructability and alternate construction approach development effort for engineering. This effort resulted in a $30MM reduction in project cost and a 3-month improvement in schedule for construction of the Unit-4 SCR at the Monroe Plant.
Worked with client to close out over 300 change orders on the books once arrived on site, was the main go between getting this done for Washington group.
Received over a 30k bonus from Washington group after first year on the project.
