Summery:

1.Presently working in Reliance Technology Group (10 years). RTG is the centralized Process Engineering department in RIL that supports Capital Projects and existing manufacturing facilities. Following are my responsibilities.

Reviewing the Technology Documents (Basic Engineering Package) from licensors that includes Process Flow Diagrams, Heat & Mass Balance, Piping & Instrument Diagram (P&ID), and Equipment Process Data Sheets (PDS), Instrument Specifications (IPDS), Interlocks and Control loop logics.

Reviewing Engineering Deliverables from DEC that includes Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) Calculations, Flare load summaries and Pump Hydraulics.

Reviewing Process Deliverables from Equipment vendors like Tray Hydraulics.

Participating in HazOp / SIL reviews.

Participating in 3D Model Review for better operability of the plant.

Participating in Factory acceptance test of DCS / ESD.

Visiting Critical Equipment Fabrication facilities for inspection

Participating in Commissioning & Start-up activities of the newly constructed plant. Working with Operations in following activities.

a.Hydro testing of Piping loops

b.FTC (functional test certificates) of Static / Rotary equipment

c.Passivation & Corrosion removal activities

Project-1: Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) is the new plant constructed by RIL with license from Versalis, Eni Group, Italy. The Plant Capacity is 141,000 MT/yr. Engineering is done by Technimont.

Project-2: Halogenated Butyl Rubber is the new project (under progress) by RIL with license from Sibur, Russia. The Plant Capacity is 60,000 MT/yr. presently working on it.

Project Support:

Working with Projects dept. in following phases of technology selection

Evaluation of Licensor proposals, raising TQs and closing with appropriate conclusion.

Preparing TBE (Technical Bid Evaluations) of licensors and recommending the suitable based on Business Requirements.

Preparing stage gate documentation / concept notes / Design Basis for identifying and utilizing the existing facilities at sites.

Operations Support:

Working with Operations dept. in troubleshooting of the problems faced by SBR plant.

Aspen Info plus 21 (IP21) is tool used to analyze the daily performance of Plant operation. Recommendations are given (on need basis) to improve the plant performance.

Involved in yearly manufacturing Budget preparations

Involved in Benchmarking studies of Plant performance

Preparing cost reduction road maps and energy conservation schemes

Support to Operations on Compliance against Audits, PSSRs

Support to Operations on resolving customer complaints related to Product quality

Support to R&D on Lab Scale experiments to improve product quality

Visiting Chemical supplier facilities for inspection and supporting procurement group on identifying the suitable vendor

2.Having 2 years of Operations experience in Petrochemical plant, Poly Butadiene Rubber (PBR) - II, Vadodara during 2008-10. Following were the Responsibilities.

Operating the Plant in shifts

Usage of SAP based work permit system and working with maintenance depts. for targeted production

Preparation of Standard operating Procedures (SOP) for Operating the plant.

Participation in start-up / shutdown activities.

Conversant with simulation software Aspen Plus and HTRI.
