Dear Sir or Madam:
I recently graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. I am relocating to New York and am very interested in applying for the Physician Assistant Emergency Department position which I found listed on LinkedIn.com.
I have received excellent training in a variety of clinical areas, including emergency medicine, under the supervision of Amy Opachko PA-C, Frank Kasmark PA-C, as well as multiple physicians and physician assistants during a six-week emergency medicine rotation at Geisinger Wyoming Valley. This rotation provided exposure to a wide variety of medical emergencies. I developed suturing techniques, started IVs, performed I&D’s, interpreted EKGs and various radiographs, and gained experience placing nasogastric tubes. I also was able to enhance my orthopedic splinting and casting techniques. As someone who has always been extremely excited about all areas of medicine, it was during this rotation that I developed a personal fascination and passion for learning more about medical emergencies and how to promptly treat life-threatening conditions. The complexity and demands of this specialty are certainly challenging, but the rewards are invaluable when you can be a part of the meaningful, positive impact that emergency medicine can have on a patient’s life.
I would welcome the opportunity to further discuss with you my skills and qualifications for this position. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
Sincerely,
Haley A. Stackhouse
