North Salt Lake, UT 84054 / Logan, UT 84321 801-***-**** ***********@*****.*** Dear Hiring Manager:
I am enthusiastically applying for this position and am submitting my resume for your consideration. With a degree in English and a certificate in Technical Writing, I have acquired the skills to succeed in this line of work. I have a wide variety of creative and technical writing experience which overlaps with the requirements listed in the internship description. During my undergraduate degree, I interned for a blog called The Gifty Girl, owned and operated by Stephanie Yrungaray. There I gained experience in planning and creating blog content while I worked with her as a ghostwriter.
I have worked with engineers at HollyFrontier Corporation to write and maintain technical documents while maintaining their branding and design requirements. While working with them, I compiled Standard Operating Procedures and Manuals for Automation Functionality Testing while refining them to ensure high quality, accuracy, and clear understanding for training purposes. During that time, I worked with project managers to gather information, refine, and clarify information to create and edit operator manuals and procedure checklists to ensure quality, efficiency, and repeatability. With exceptional technical writing skills, I can create documents that are thorough and clear with user-friendly formatting. I can work with field experts to gather information for a thorough understanding of the subject matter. I have worked with Adobe Creative Cloud to create graphics necessary for reader understanding. I am attending the English Graduate Program at Utah State University and will start evening classes this fall, primarily through online study. I would love to bring my experience and enthusiasm to your company I look forward to your call at your earliest convenience.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Makenzie A. Vance
