Responsibilities as a certified physician assistant
· Perform the daily routine as per Physicians instruction/protocol.
· Understand patient’s chief complaint and obtain an accurate past medical history according to patient's chief complaint.
· Perform appropriate physical exam according to chief complaint.
· Perform a complete physical exam when needed.
Provide appropriate patient education and counseling.
Derive an accurate diagnosis and give appropriate treatment for the diagnosis.
· Prescribe medications and write orders accordingly .
· Order appropriate labs, diagnostic tests/procedures.
Recommend age appropriate screening tests such as colonoscopy, pap smears, mammograms, blood work, etc.
Clearly and thoroughly document all pertinent information.
Keep track of patient’s conditions and recommended treatments with follow up care.
Cleaning and sanitizing assigned area for procedures and maintaining a sterile environment.
Understand the different types of biopsies for each specimen needed.
