PROJECTS
TEAM PROJECT
● Go-Kart Fabrication, International Go Kart Championship
(Blitzkrieg: Team Genesis 2.0)
Worked as the captain of the go-kart team of our institute comprising 16 individuals. I was working in the transmission department, wherein we designed a unique external clutch system to provide large changes in gear ratios.
● Thermal Management of Photo-Voltaic cells
Working on improving the thermal efficiency of solar panels by incorporating copper channels installed behind the panel which are flooded with water. We have also incorporated a tracking mechanism(single-axis) using linear actuators to further capture more solar energy. Alongside, we have also conducted CFD simulations which we validated with the experimental results. INDEPENDENT PROJECTS
For detailed information regarding project
Visit: https://projects.skill-lync.com/profiles/Siddharth-Redkar-681 1. Flow through Exhaust Port using Ansys Fluent
In this project, a steady state CFD simulation was conducted on a flow flowing through an exhaust port and suitable heat transfer characteristics were assessed. 2. Solving the 2D Heat Conduction Equation
Solved the steady and transient versions of the 2D Heat Conduction equation and plotted the final result on MATLAB, using explicit and implicit solvers (namely Jacobi, Gauss Seidel, SOR).
3. CFD simulation of flow through a pipe using OpenFoam For various wedge angles, the velocity profiles were found across the pipe at various lengths along the pipe.
4. CFD simulation of flow through a pipe(wedge) using OpenFoam For various wedge angles, the symmetry and wedge boundary conditions were compared with the Hagen-Poiseuille Analytical Equation in OpenFoam. 5. Steady State CFD simulation on mixing-tee
The CFD simulation was carried out on Ansys Fluent to observe the effect of momentum ratio and length of pipe on the mixing effectiveness of the system. 6. Flow CFD simulation through a backward facing step using OpenFoam Using various mesh grading factors, the flow CFD simulation through a pipe was conducted and analysed on OpenFoam.
7. Solving the Quasi-1D Supersonic nozzle flow equation In this project, the Quasi-1D supersonic nozzle flow equation (Conservative and Non- Conservative) was solved using the McCormack numerical technique (predictor and corrector technique)
8. Steady State CFD simulation on mixing tee geometry using Ansys Fluent
In this project, a steady state CFD simulation was conducted on a mixing tee geometry and by varying the length of the pipe and momentum ratio. 9. Flow CFD simulation over a cylinder using Ansys Fluent In this project, a steady state CFD simulation and transient CFD simulation was conducted to observe the Von Karman vortex street phenomenon which occurs behind the cylinder.
10. Aerodynamics of an Ahmed Body using Ansys Fluent In this project, aerodynamic effects such as drag and lift were observed around an Ahmed body which is a benchmark design for aerodynamic CFD simulation. EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
● In 2019 Received certificate for Participating and completing 10 KM Warangal Marathon 10K Run conducted by Athletic association Warangal.
● Makers Asylum, Mumbai
Volunteered to help conduct a 10-day workshop called Steam School, which involved working on UN Sustainable Development Goals. Also conducted a successful school trip to a government school in Saki Naka, Mumbai.
