OBJECTIVE:

To work as industrial and academic researcher in Microbiology and Biotechnology and make optimum use of my skill set gained through previous experience.

SKILLS:

• Hands-on training on dissecting and perfusing the mice, collecting their organs (such as the spleen, lungs, genital tract, femur), euthanizing the mice (cervical dislocation and CO2 chamber) and blood collection.

• Proficient in programs like Graph pad Prism, MS office, 10X genomics.

• Extensive hands on training on bio analytical techniques such as enzyme-linked immunoassay (cytokine, interferon and antibody), immunofluorescence staining, BMDC culture and spleenocyte assay.

• Hands on training on RNA extraction, DNA extraction, cDNA formation, RT PCR, western blot, microRNA informatics analysis, restriction mapping, cloning and protein expression. EDUCATION:

University of Texas at San Antonio. August 2017-May 2020. Master of Science in Biology GPA-3.02

University of Pune. August 2013-May2015.

Master of Science in Microbiology GPA:3.7

EXPERIENCE:

University of Texas at San Antonio

• Teaching Assistant Cell Biology. January -May 2018. Conducted laboratory sessions on disinfection, sterilization, microscopy, cell culturing and passaging, media preparation, cell counting.

• Teaching Assistant Biosciences II: August -December 2018. Organized experiments in ecology, evolutionary biology, biotic diversity, plant structure and function.

Demonstrated techniques such as PCR, antibiotic resistance, staining procedure, microscopy.

• Teaching Assistant Cure’s course. August-Decmber2019. Demonstrated RNA extraction from lung and GT, cDNA formation, RT PCR and microRNA informatics analysis of genes that were found to be regulated in PCR experiments. RESEARCH:

University of Texas at San Antonio: January 2018-Dec 2019.

• Contribution of host microRNAs in the development of anti-Chlamydial immunity and contribution of Fetuin A in Chlamydial lung infection based on immunological roles and bacterial burden under the supervision of Dr. Rishein Gupta Assistant professor of research, UTSA. In this project, the effect of specific host microRNAs in inducing immunity against genital chlamydial infection was investigated. Central Dogma Pvt. Ltd. February2016-May2017.

• Recombinant expression of protein (Cloning, expression of SAK fusion protein using PET21a vector on SDS PAGE) using techniques like PCR, DNA extraction, restriction mapping, cloning and protein expression. The goal of this project was to use cloned SAK gene as a solubility tag for other recombinant proteins which are otherwise expressed in inclusion body. University of Pune: June 2014-May 2015

• Isolation, Characterization and Screening of Bioemulsifier Producing Micro- Organisms from Soil Sample

(Kaas Pathar, Satara, India) and its Application. The bioemulsifier produced showed anti-diabetic and anti-fungal properties thus, suggesting its application in food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry. PUBLICATIONS:
