Liver Dropout Risk Calculator

Analyzed longitudinal data (multiple encounters) of 277K patients and at a smaller subset of 24K patients with liver HCC. Developed machine learning models that can predict which patients will need a transplant with five- fold cross-validation from a combined train test size of 4 K HCC patients, high quality dataset. Random forest, xgboost, cox proportional hazards models. Client facing with national transplant policy makers. Results

• Achieved accuracy of 82% with 86% ROC AUC.

• Achieved concordance of 73% with survival models utilizing engineered features.

• Created a clinical calculator to predict the probability of dropout within 3, 6 and 12 months, accounting for the competing event of liver transplant.
