Duties include performing physical examinations, diagnosing, and treating at least 26 critical patients in collaboration with 1 attending physician; ordering, drawing and interpreting laboratory results, and special testing; interpreting radiographs; managing daily patient needs such as fluid and medication orders; attending all high risk vaginal deliveries and all c-sections; resuscitating newborns in the delivery, neonatal, and mother-baby units with use of bag and mask ventilation, intubation, cardiac compressions, intravenous access and emergency medications; obtaining detailed patient history, antepartum consults, and parent education.
