SUMMER INTERNSHIP, ONGC, DEHRADUN

PROJECT TITLE: Cementing and its Challenges

Project involved CEMCADE (Schlumberger software) Lab experiment which assists the user with the process of cementing in the annulus of the well bore. The borehole temperature and pressure is detected by logging tests and according to the nature of the well we need to add chemicals (such as accelerators and retarders, etc.) to the cement slurry. The hydraulic pressure of the cement slurry and mud is maintained between the pore pressure and the fracture pressure. CEMCADE calculates the range of hydraulic pressure that should be maintained for the given input while the cementing process is done.
