Krannert School of Management, Purdue University under Prof. Mohit Tawarmalani Aug 2016 - current Continuing PhD student: Optimization Techniques For Probability Estimation

Developed novel mixed integer nonlinear optimization techniques to estimate rare event probability

Formulated and implemented a new polynomial time approximate counting algorithm to assist the probability estimation.

Applied the ideas to Network reliability problem to nd probability of link failures resulting in high network utilization.

Prepared and submitted technical reports, presentations and scienti c papers.

Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai, India under Prof. Veeraruna Kavitha Jan - April 2016 Research Assistant : Brownian motion on one dimensional gird with random deletions points

Conducted literature review on simple random walks done on Voronoi tiling networks.

Computed e ciency measures of a Brownian Motion done on integers with random deletions.

Explored analogies and applications of these Brownian Motions in mobile network communications, which were used to study the variations in the signal strength received by a mobile user moving in a one dimensional grid.

INRIA Sophia Antipolis - M editerran ee, France under Prof. Konstantin Avratchenkov May - July 2015 Student Research Internship: Random Walks with restarts and applications in optimization

Collaborated on globally optimizing polynomials using the concept of random walk with restarts.

Computed & compared the expected time of convergence to the global optima using the simple line search method and the proposed method of line search combined with random restarts.

Theoretically derived and veri ed via simulations the expression for the optimal restart probability, for which the proposed algorithm converged the fastest.
