Job Experience

K2 Insurance Services Oct. 2019 - Present

Data Analyst Intern

My primary project was helping K2’s specialty home insurance businesses identify areas for growth and improvement. I extracted data from their Microsoft SQL databases to review historical trends and compare trends with promotional campaigns. Conducted AB testing to identify significant findings then communicated to VP of Product Management for marketing campaign performance tracking.

Visualizations were done in Python and statistical testing was done in R

Statistical test used: anova, t-test, regression, logistic regression

A secondary project included adding new features to K2’s internal web application for risk evaluation. I used the Django web framework to build an application to extract information from historical claim records to populate state schedule rating forms. Once forms were complete, data could then be exported to Excel workbooks for review and submission. This solution allowed for a more streamline workflow for insurance underwriters and improved the collection of data for reporting purposes.

Technologies used were Python, Django, HTML, SQL, T-SQL, and MS Excel

Git was used to merge new features into existing code base
