Civil engineering professional with the proven ability to perform analysis and design of structural components; produce structural drawings, specifications, and reports; and lead project teams to support organizations move toward success. Seeking opportunities to further experience in the design of bridges, from simple span bridges to structural steel bridges for interchanges, along with developing innovative new bridge beam sections. The opportunity to support clients in the transportation arena, from design through construction is the ultimate dream and goal. WORK EXPERIENCE
TOWER ENGINEERING PROFESSIONALS, RALEIGH, NC June 2018 – July 2020 Structural Engineering Associate – Analyst position providing designs of telecommunication structures including towers, appurtenance mounting equipment, and water tanks. In 2 Years completed over 400 deliverables that resulted in the completion of launched pilots with clients such as US Cellular, Verizon, American Towers Corporation, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
• Performed adequate research using the ASCE 7 Hazards tool and Google Earth to determine wind speeds, seismic values, ice parameters, topographic features, and exposure that can hinder the structural integrity of a specific structure based on TIA-222-H and TIA 222-G standards
• Complied with city, county, state, and client requirement on which International Building Codes and TIA Standards to reference
• Confirmed all appurtenances, coax cables, and power cables that are proposed, reserved, existing, and to be removed with documents provided by the client; which include RFDS, tower mappings, mount mappings, previous mount structural analysis, previous tower structural analysis, and construction drawings
• Designed 3D models of towers, appurtenance mounting equipment, and water tanks using computerized programs RISA-3D and tnx towers. Models were based on tower mappings, mount mapping, tower drawings, manufacturer drawings, modification design drawings, and AISC steel manual for shape and material grade reference
• Implemented values researched into excel programs or tnx towers program that calculated wind pressure, ice weight, and seismic force, based TIA standards, with considerations of the geometry of each structural component and dimensions of each appurtenance
• Uploaded all forces generated from the excel sheets to the RISA-3D model so that the program can analyze the model for 68 load combinations, or 98 load combinations based on local building code standards
• Conducted foundation analysis on towers using ACI procedures, applied forces, foundation structural and concrete properties, and soil properties
• Created deliverables summarizing the results of the structural integrity of both towers and appurtenance mounting equipment specifying if the structures are feasible CITY OF RALEIGH DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATIONS, RALEIGH, NC May 2014 – August 2017 Lead Camp Counselor – Leadership position supervising camp activities and developing recreational plans.
• Led counselors in organizing trips, planning, and scheduling group activities, providing emotional support, greeting new campers, and explaining all the rules of the camp
• Successfully led the daily programming and supervision of 28 camp participants ages 5-13 years old
• Administered first aid and properly documented each incident to ensure the safety of children in our care. Communicated quickly and effectively to notify the parent or guardian with details of the event Traveon S. Harris
