I am a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner currently working in Endocrinology. My experience as a Nurse Practitioner includes 1.5 years in a retail health clinic and 5.5 years in endocrinology office. I also have 6 years of experience working as a registered nurse in critical care. Through my experience, I have gained continued expertise in supporting patients with multiple chronic co-morbidities as well as acute disease processes. This includes diagnosing, treating and initiating medication; performing diagnostic interventions; and executing follow-ups as needed. I have crafted treatment plans adhering to rigorous standards of care and professional practice guidelines as well as documented and successfully applied findings of patient data encompassing assessment results, interventions, medications, patient responses and treatment changes. It is my continued goal to grow and expand on these skills throughout my career.

I work in conjunction with an endocrinologist to perform and interpret diagnostic tests as well as diagnose and treat conditions affecting the endocrine system. I also provide screenings, interventions, counseling, and prescribe medications as needed related to specific disease states. My patient load consists of endocrine diseases; however, I primarily manage all states of diabetes and thyroid disorders in adults 15 years and older. I also perform general, stable, follow-ups on patients with hypogonadism, PCOS, pituitary tumors, Addison’s disease and Cushing’s disease. I treat other underlying disease complications and some primary chronic diseases that include, but are not limited to: hypertension, hyperlipidemia, depression, anxiety, insomnia, minor wound management, and vitamin deficiencies.

I worked autonomously in a retail health clinic to conduct physical assessments, perform and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose and treat common conditions, provide screenings, interventions, counseling, and prescribe medications as needed to patients in specified age categories. I provide accurate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of common family illnesses for patients over 18 months as well as monitored chronic disease states.

•Preceptor: I oriented new hires as well as precepted students.
•DOT Expert Panel: This panel is comprised of 12 providers across the country that are considered experts in DOT physicals per FMCSA guidelines. In this role, I was a support person for other providers. I led DOT discussions as well as question and answer sessions.
•Engagement Survey Champion: In this role, I took the results from the yearly engagement survey and created a discussion forum for the providers in my district. We discussed how we could make changes, and I then implemented these changes with the help of our practice manage. This involved developing new ways of communication, increasing morale and improving workflow.
•Staff Meetings: In this role, I surveyed the providers on how to improve staff meetings, developed and implemented new ideas and gathered feedback regarding new processes.
•Welcoming Committee: I was part of the welcoming committee for new providers in our district. In this role, I made daily phone calls to the new provider working to make sure they were adjusting to their new role and provided ongoing guidance during time of uncertainty.
