Work Experience

Plant Manager at Hightec Steel Co. Ltd., Sudan, East Africa Since Apr’15

Key Result Areas:

Leading operations of Steel Melt Shop from Electric Arc Furnace, LRF to Caster for smooth operations of shifts and Process Control

Amending EAF to increase volume & production with less cost; Enhancing the ladle through modification to get the same volume of metal to be tapped from EAF

Liaising with fellow workmen from other departments (planning, quality control, and mill) for effective plant production

Performing TPM activities for machines for improving their life

Implementing proper corrective actions to achieve higher yields and to increase life of Electric Arc Furnace and Ladle

Highlights:

Steered efforts in improving the productivity and quality of products by changing melting procedures and developed new alloys

Played a key role in setting up hydraulic system to operate smooth working of the EAF, ensured fine tuning of the EAF Arcing to produce the heat with less time and reduced refractory cost

Successfully modified LRF trolley system in purging system, process system in LRF; modified casting operations to produce improved quality casting in CCM

Directed efforts in setting the plant 75% to produce the heat with 40% power for the total plant; producing 7 heats including complete casting within 10 hours per day; producing mild steel grade, with 100% scarp charge; executed feature planning for DRI & HBI charge along with scrap

Increased the production from 7 heats to 10 heats in 12 hrs of production by increasing the heat size.

Reduce in material consumption cost by introducing better material management system by 25%.

Modification of CCM turret to produce L+4 heats

Production Manager at Dubai Steel Manufacturing Co. Since Apr’15

Highlights:

Administering operation of induction furnace with low production cost

Leading all activities for production of steel melt shop as well as HRM production (production of 8mm to 16mm TMT bars)

SMS having 8mt and 6mt of Megatharm and 4/7 CCM of Eastern Metake.

In CCM made the modification in procedure to reduce the loss of liquid metal by this achieved 87 to 90% yield metal to billet.

Played a key role in increasing the production and achieving highest production in 6 years by changing the melting methods

Increase in the heat size by slight modifying the induction furnace pot design by 8mt to 10mt and 6mt by 8mt of liquid metals.

Increase in total heat by 7 heats to 11 heats in 20hrs.

Reduction in production cost by increasing the productivity, without effecting the quality with maximum utilisation of equipments by reducing the downtime in both SMS and Rolling Mill.

In rolling mill started direct hot rolling direct feeding from Continues casing machine to reduce the cost of production, by this achieved 6 years highest final production.

By controlling the miss rolling and end cutting wastage of final product to achieve more yield to reduce cost of production in HRM.
