Dispense and compound prescriptions and maintain accurate patient records, dosing information, and directions for use. Interact with HMO's and other insurance providers concerning billing/reimbursement issues. Supervise the fulfillment of prescriptions by pharmacy technicians and train them to be efficient with the prescription filling computer program. Ensure compliance with all state and federal rules and regulations. Maintain control and documentation of all controlled substance records, and reporting to MAPS online. Experience using CSOS order system for C2 controlled substances. Ensure that discontinued and expired medications are properly returned and destroyed. Order all front-end OTC medications and pharmaceuticals from suppliers.
