RioZim operates the 25,000 oz. per annum Renco gold mine and the Empress Nickel Refinery. In addition, the Cam & Motor gold mine started in the 2nd quarter of 2015 with an initial expenditure of US$500,000 and will ramp up to 47,000 ounces per annum at full production.

Successfully completed a 17-month contract to open the Cam & Motor mine and lower Renco’s operating cost per ounce by 20%.

MINTAILS LIMITED (Krugersdorp, South Africa)

Mintails Limited (ASX Code: MLI) was an Australian listed company with management and operations in South Africa. Mintails processed and recovered gold from surface tailings and subsurface reef resources which are present on the West Rand of South Africa’s historic Witwatersrand Basin. In addition, the Company also recovered gold for neighbouring mines from ore delivered and processed under toll treatment contracts.

PLATINUM AUSTRALIA LIMITED (Johannesburg, South Africa)

Platinum Australia operated the Smokey Hills Platinum Mine in South Africa which had a projected average annual production capacity of 95,000 oz. 4E PGM. The open pit and underground operation commenced production in early 2009 and was projected to be one of the lowest cost producers in the World.

In addition, the Company had a diverse portfolio of advanced PGM projects in South Africa and Australia providing a pipeline of projects for potential development.

KATANGA MINING LIMITED (Johannesburg, South Africa)

Responsible for all operations and projects in the DRC.

Katanga Mining Limited operates a large-scale copper-cobalt project with substantial high-grade mineral reserves and integrated metallurgical operations in the Kolwezi area of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The SVP-Project Development and Technical Services reported to the CEO and was responsible for an 1800 strong project and construction group including contractors who were refurbishing the original Gecamines’ Kamoto concentrator and refinery. In addition to the refurbishment of the existing plant, this group had started construction of a new modular SX/EW having a LME Grade A Cu cathode capacity of 250,000 tpa. Total capex for the refurbishment and the new plant totaled approx. $3 billion.

ATLAS CONSOLIDATED MINING AND DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (Mandaluyong City, Philippines)

Responsible for increasing the shareholder value of Atlas and making Atlas a prominent Cu/Au producer again not only in the Philippines but also worldwide.

This included the restart of the Toledo Copper Mine (renamed the Carmen Copper Project), the Aquatlas Water project, several nickel projects and Cu/Au exploration projects throughout the Philippines. The Toledo mine complex consisted of 3 open pits, 2 u/g block caves and a concentrator. Total rehabilitation capital cost for the Carmen project was US$230 million.

HINDALCO INDUSTRIES LIMITED (Mumbai, India)

Hindalco is the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group and comprises two strategic businesses – copper and aluminum. With a market capitalization of US$3.0 billion, it had annual revenues of US$2.2 billion and 19,500 employees.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the COO was responsible for technical and operational excellence on all copper and bauxite mining operations. The copper operations comprised two mines in Australia.

FALCONBRIDGE LIMITED (Toronto, Canada)

Falconbridge Limited was a leading low-cost producer of nickel, copper, cobalt and platinum group metals.

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, Projects & Engineering, the Director was responsible for the overall management of scoping, pre-feasibility and bankable feasibility studies on new mine projects. In addition, the Director provided technical expertise on mining and mining projects including possible acquisitions and/or possible economic mineral deposits in Canada and internationally as well as provided advice to mining project groups within the operating divisions.

SOUTHERNERA RESOURCES LIMITED (Toronto, Canada)

Created SouthernEra’s mining and treatment operations from an exploration base. This included the design, construction and operation of the 100 tph and 50 tph DMS diamond treatment plants for the Marsfontein Joint Venture with De Beers, and the Klipspringer Leopard fissure system in South Africa, respectively.
