4. Consultant Pathologist for Myology Unit in National Institute of Neuromotor Disabilities for Children. The unit receives about 50 cases per year. These cases range from congenital myopathies, metabolic myopathies to dystrophies, sarcoglycanopathies and SMA.

We run the muscle specimen (biopsy) through a selective panel of special stains and immunohistochemistry on the basis of clinical history and examination along with the results of an EMG and biochemical lab tests.

The society attempts to teach the parents how to cope with a disabled child or not uncommonly, several children in one family. We also try to provide families with special equipment for disabled children in order to assure them a better quality of life regardless of their disability.
