Research projects and presentations
Capstone Presentation: Hemocompatibility profiles comparison for centrifugal vs axial flow left ventricular assist devices
Centrifugal flow LVADs offer lowered mortality rates.
Capstone Paper: Post – Operative hemocompatibility adverse event profiles between axial flow and centrifugal flow left ventricular assist devices
Physicians should consider centrifugal flow LVADs due to their non-inferior hematological adverse effect profiles and lower rates of pump thrombosis and pump malfunction.
Triamcinolone injections vs janus kinase inhibitors(JAK) adverse event profiles for patients with Alopecia Areata
Oral JAK allow for safe delivery method and low risk of adverse effects making it a more feasible treatment option for clinicians while maintaining a high benefit vs harm ratio.
Fat necrosis rates for Deep Inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flaps vs Pedicled Transverse Rectus Abdominus Myocutaneous (pTRAM) Flaps for patients undergoing mastectomy and autologous breast reconstruction
No statistical difference found between pTRAM and DIEP flaps besides DIEP requiring microsurgery but sacrificing abdominal strength.
Clostridium histolyticum vs interferon alpha-2b injections and penile curvature change for patients with acute or chronic phase Peyroine’s Disease
No statistical difference between the two options and both are successful treatment options.
Arthroscopic hip surgery compared to physiotherapy and conservative treatment for femoral acetabular impingement.
Personalized physiotherapy after diagnostic injections is a cost-effective option that gives the patient more time before surgical intervention.
