• Completed four weeks Summer Training at Indian Oil Corporation Limited Barauni Refinery Distt. Begusarai, Bihar in 2016.

Industrial training of the refinery and overview of the production of various petroleum products. During the training I visited following units:

1. SRU (sulfur recovery unit)

2. RFCCU (residue fluidized catalytic cracking unit) 3. Atmospheric distillation unit.

MAJOR PROJECT AND SEMINAR

• Fabrication of Chemically Crosslinked KOH doped PVA-rGO Composite membrane for Direct Alkaline Ethanol Fuel Cell. (Post-Graduation Project) In the project, I synthesized Graphene Oxide and Reduced Graphene Oxide and fabricate a composite membrane of PVA& rGO crosslinked with glutaraldehyde in presence of HCl catalyst at different pH and concentration of rGO. These membranes were doped with different concentration of KOH. Membrane characterization was done by water uptake, KOH uptake, ion conductivity and ion- exchange capacity.

• Modeling and simulation of modified Atmospheric & Vacuum Distillation Unit using Aspen HYSYS (Graduation Project)

In this project, I optimized the cost and energy and minimized the production of residue. Two crudes namely BOMBAYHG and ARABY (light crude) were considered in study and different binary combinations of these crude were used as feed to crude distillation unit system. Neptha, diesel, kerosene and AGO were the products of CDU while LVGO and HVGO were the products of AVU. ASTM D86 and D1160 characterization method were used for CDU products and VDU Products respectively. Peng-Robinson packaging was used for thermodynamic properties calculation.

In this presentation, I described the heavy water and its production, uses and future scope.
