Wireless Network Design Engineer (contractor), Insight Global, Atlanta, GA. Contracted with Cisco CX, performing wireless predictive site designs using Ekahua Pro software. Multiple SDWAN projects for a Cisco Fortune 100 customer, received branch site information and floorplans that where then subject to a predictive design survey using Aruba or Cisco access points. Work entailed producing AP location designs and reports for PM, and creating supporting documentation for BOM for both single and multi-story installations. These were completed in weekly batches. All designs were subject to strict design requirements with extensive peer reviews. Contract cut short by Cisco’s customer due to the economic effects of Covid-19 and project scale- back.

Wireless engineer performing wireless surveys for RTLS (real-time location services, Cisco Location services, Passive, and predictive surveys). Focus on design, ordering, build, and deployment. This included MDF and IDF switches, firewalls, and WLC (wireless controller integration. Sites were complete hospital systems that also included remote clinics including WAN router integration using MPLS, P2P, Metro-E, MAN, Wireless bridges, Firewall (ASA and Checkpoint), ISP Guest networks, and Meraki SD-WAN. Services include EMR/EHR, VOIP, Nurse Call, Telemetry Devices, IV pumps, and other medical specialty devices. Scope was dozens of hospitals (including acquisitions) and close to 200 clinics.

Surveying is with Air Magnet Pro and Cisco APs for delivery of a high signal and full coverage (medical grade); WiFi connection to include VOIP, EHR/EMR, and location services in alignment with government Meaningful Use programs. Actively surveyed over 2.5 million sq. ft. in medical centers throughout the U.S. Installation includes ordering, mounting APs, switch configuration, and the configuring of Cisco WLAN controllers.
