Sr. Infrastructure Administrator – Baker College

Role: This role is an expert-level position that takes the lead on proactively securing the infrastructure of the institution by identifying industry best practices and establishing the appropriate methodology. A position of this nature will be a strategic leader in the conceptual design and architecture of IT Infrastructure and will have an expert understanding of diverse technologies, industry standards, security, and design.

Responsibilities:

Participate in the planning and design of infrastructure architecture in consultation with admin members / leadership within the Information Technology Department, including the analysis and recommendation of purchasing hardware and software for infrastructure security.

Maintain the institution’s network infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud to ensure efficient operations and negligible disruptions to business operations.

Staying up-to-date on IT security trends and information.

Evaluate and research emerging threats and vulnerabilities to aid in the identification and prevention of security incidents.

Conducts technical network vulnerability and risk assessments. Ensures the confidentiality, availability and integrity of IT systems through full compliance with Higher Education required regulations (HIPAA, FERPA, etc.).

Take lead role in investigating and reporting on security breaches to appropriate parties.
