KEY QUALIFICATION AND PERSONAL PROFILE
Reservoir Engineering professional with ca. 20 years experience in the oil and gas industry for more than 20 years spent mostly in some companies in Mideleast and North Africa. I have a broad experince in operation reservoir engineering well and reservoir management (WRM) for for natural, water injection and artificial lift production, oil and gas resouces estimation and documentation, reservoir study and reservoir modelling. Within my lengthy career life, I worked on sandstone and carbonate reservoirs in onshore and offshore oil and gas fields development. In addition to primary and secondary production method, the recent part of my experience is focus on CO2 enhanced oil recovery.
Moeover, I have good numerical and analytical skills and experienced in standard petroleum softwares and tools among them Eclipse, Petrel, MBAL, PanSystem, Techlog and PVTsim.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Sep 2016 – Jun 2019
Master degree student at Aalborg university in Denmark.
My long thesis project is titled "Carbonated Produced Water Injection as a Promising EOR Method: Experimental and Numerical Simulation Study". the study was on one of North Sea fields and included core lab-experiments, well log interpretation using Techlog, building static and compositional dynamic models using Petrel/Eclipse 300. This study was intended to investigate the advantages of applying carbonated produced water injection CPWI (CO2-enriched produced water) in terms of increasing the recovery factor and decreasing the cost of disposing produced water. this EOR technology is tested by spontaneous imbibition for the first and has proved to be successful, thus it was decided to be published. Additionally, during the master degree course, I worked on various projects such as “Design of An Offshore Separation Train" and " Modeling of Terrain Slug Flow".
Jul 2013- Jul 2016
Cunsultant Reservoir Engineer for Arabian Golf Oil Company (AGOCO), Libya.
I managed one of the biggest field in the east of Lybia, ca. 70 active well (working under water injection drive mechanism). Among others, I did well performance review, following up well activities and workovers, cased/open hole data acquisition, quality control and handle tender matters, oil and gas resource estimation, production forcasting, production optomization and drilling planing.
Moreover I followed up the field dynamic integrated simulation study and routine and special core analysis study. In addition, one of my key responsibility is coaching and mentor younger national staff.
Oct 2011- May 2013
Senior Reservoir Engineer for Al Furat Petroleum Company - AFPC (Joint Venture between Shell and Syrian Petroleum Company).
Development Lead and Well/Reservoir Management Lead for the biggest field in AFPC and 3 smaller fields (water injection drive).
Contributed to well and reservoir management, oil and gas resources estimation and documentations and reservoir simulation study. Some of the achievements are:
Acting as Reservoir Engineering Section Head for the Omar-Thayyem group of fields.
Oil and gas resources estimation (Decline curve analysis, Material balance, Volumatrics..)
Conducted drilling opportunities screening and matured 3 drilling opportunities.
Contributed to reservoir simulation modelling.
Contributing actively to the training and development of less experienced engineers.
Served as administrator for the Oilfield Manager (OFM) production database used in AFPC. Developed external links for OFM, and specific new variables, reports, and graph templates.
Mar 2003 –Oct 2011
Reservoir engineer for Al Furat Petroleum Company
During this period a took the responsibility to manage many fields including retrograde condinsate gas field oil fields. Specific contributions were:
Elaborated the reserves estimation, documented and reported the oil and gas resources as well as created the production forecast of the assigned fields.
Curried out a detailed studies of OMN oil field and East & South East blocks of the Omar field; this included building a multi-tank material balance model in order to asses the intial oil in place with comparision to volumatrics estimation and identify the need for future dynamic study.
Followed up the development plan for a carbonate reservoir in the Omar field, including data acquisition & QC, and interference well test design and analysis using PanSystem.
Participated in identification, maturation and following up various development opportunities such drilling, work over, and production system optimisation activities.
Followed-up the newly drilled prospects and contributed to constructing the further development plan and production strategy for the new discovered blocks including data acquisition plan, QC and analysis acquired data (PVT, temperature and pressure data).
Curried out material balance study of a retrograde condensate gas reservoir by using the P/Z-2phase method. The workflow of the analysis involved PVT simulation (PVTsim), pressure-production data analysis, P/Z calculations, well deliverability analysis, and production forecasting.
Identified critical reservoir uncertainties that influence reservoir performance by conducting suitable sensitivity analyses and provided recommendations to identify data acquisition requirements
Improved reservoir description through fluid analysis, core evaluation, well testing interpretation, temprature measurments interpretation, and production performance analysis
Prepared and updated periodic reports such as monthly activity reports and downtime
Acted as a coordinator and reservoir engineer for different oil and gas fields.
Mar 1998 – Mar 2003
Well-site Geologist for Syrian Petroleum Company. Specific tasks executed were:
Analysed, described and reported drilling rock cuttings
Witnessed, interpreted and reported drill stem pressure test (DST), Mud logging operations, open hole logging operations and core drilling
