Furthered knowledge and experience in the operating room as the first assist in all surgeries performed by Dr. Jeffrey Perri such as minimally invasive procedures including laparoscopic cholecystectomies, laparoscopic hernia repairs, and placement of a gastrostomy feeding tube, in addition to open procedures including small bowel resections. Gained valuable experience in suturing, manipulating the scope internally and maintaining sterilization throughout the surgical procedures while in the operating room. During clinic days, inpatient rounding, and consulting in the emergency department, gained experience in diagnosing elective surgical conditions, managing post-operative care and completing daily progress notes.
