Furthered experience in hands-on patient care in this community hospital while partaking in the care of high acuity situations such as STEMI’s, hemorrhagic bleeds, and septic shock, among others. Gained experience in seeing my own patients and dealing with lower acuity cases individually and consulting providers as needed for suturing, abscess drainage and aspiration of joint effusions. Furthered knowledge and experience in the operating room as the first assist in all surgeries performed by Dr. Jeffrey Perri such as minimally invasive procedures including laparoscopic cholecystectomies, laparoscopic hernia repairs, and placement of a gastrostomy feeding tube, in addition to open procedures including small bowel resections. Gained valuable experience in suturing, manipulating the scope internally and maintaining sterilization throughout the surgical procedures while in the operating room.
