I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology Management from Mount Marty College in the spring of 2017. During my time at Mount Marty I learned critical management techniques, accounting familiarity and marketing skills as well as progressive advertising procedures.
I received an Associate’s Degree in Computer Information Systems in 2012 From Lake Area Technical Institute. During my period of training there I became familiar with several programming languages. I learned Java, Visual Basic, COBOL and Database Design using MySQL. I also learned many web design languages including HTML, CSS, PHP, ASP and JavaScript.
Military Education
I became a Commissioned Officer in the South Dakota National Guard in January of 2012. Prior to that I took a 19-month course called Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Fort Meade, Sturgis, SD. I learned leadership skills, memo writing, tactical skills and writing of operations orders as well as research techniques and extreme discipline. After I received my commission I attended another course called Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC) in Fort Sill, OK. During those 4 months I learned artillery tactics, controls of artillery fires, processing of fire missions and critical research skills.
In addition to these courses I have taken many others. I became a SHARP (Sexual Harassment and Assault Response and Prevention) Officer after a two-week course in Fort Bragg, NC in 2014. I learned how to perform the duties of a Unit Victim Advocate for personnel who feel they’ve been violated through sexual assault or harassment. I also Took a Unit Movement Officer (UMO) course in 2010 in Sioux Falls, SD. This course taught me how to do all of the federal paperwork required to move military equipment by land, sea or air, commercially or militarily.

For 7 years I have served as a field Artillery Officer. My purpose was to expertly perform soldiers training, plan the training, and supervise the training events to ensure that as much knowledge as possible was given to all soldiers, regardless of rank.
For the year of 2013 I performed as a Communications Officer. I served as the system administrator for a small group of IT personnel. I updated computers, loaded and tested communications equipment and performed satellite uplink. We maintained a network and due to its reliability, we were able to perform the mission flawlessly. Due to my excellent communication skills and knowledge of the processes, we maintained our network for the entire annual training.
I served as a logistics/ammunition officer for 2 years. My purpose was to provide educated oversight of all supply functions and report all supply and logistics assets to my supervisors.

Additional Duties
I served as a sexual harassment, assault response coordinator (D-SAACP Civilian Certification) for 390 soldiers. I provided training for an entire battalion.
I served as a Unit Movement Officer where I provided guidance to and wrote portions of an operations order based on travel needs.
I received a federal secret security clearance in 2011.
I have held the position of Ethics Officer (EO) Officer where I surveyed and trained the Battalion on ethics problems and solutions. It tied together well with my SHARP training.
I have been involved in hundreds of events promoting the South Dakota National Guard. I walked in parades, performed Color Guard as sporting events, and have performed proper funeral rites for 50 fallen veterans. Civilian Experience

Water Treatment Plant Operator

I worked as a maintenance asset for the Water Treatment Plant. I repaired numerous pieces of equipment and systems to ensure that water quality regulations are maintained. I also performed troubleshooting and critical repair on programmable logic controllers
(PLC’s) and some computer repair.
I worked closely with an engineering firm to continuously upgrade and improve the logic on a n automation system that I was directly involved in building as well as managing and upgrading existing systems. I used two operating interfaces. The first was Wonderware and the second was FactoryTalk, both which I am extremely comfortable with. I worked with Allen-Bradley PLC’s daily when performing maintenance on the network or equipment, when providing and implementing updates, and performing backups. I worked daily in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Precision Guidance Specialist

As the Precision Guidance Specialist, my daily tasks included sales, installation and troubleshooting of Trimble GPS guidance for farming equipment. When these tasks were complete, I worked in parts sales.
I learned the software produced solely by Trimble and was able to explain it in a way that novice operators were able to understand. I performed upgrades and complete reinstalls of software as well as installing the displays into farming and construction equipment.
I performed daily computer troubleshooting and repair operations as well as software updates. I also learned many virus removal techniques for cleaning an entire network efficiently.

Community Involvement
I have been amemberoftheU.S. Military Vets Motorcycle Club for 4 years, fromAprilof2014 to present. For 3 years I was the South Dakota State Treasurer. I also served as the Field Training Officer where I taught new members how to act appropriately among our members as well as members of other motorcycle clubs. During the entire time I helped make decisions involving the club as well as potential services with which we could help the community. We donated to many organizations including the Disabled American Vets, the local Jaycees and the Hope Foundation in Fargo, ND.
