Brief description of the project:

IT Service desk is providing technical helpdesk support for Cognizant users (offshore). It is a multitasking project where it makes us handle 2-3 tasks at a time. It involves OS level troubleshooting, System Administration, incident management and also coordinating with support teams such as Messaging Team, Networking Team, and Server team for the proper resolution for the issue within SLA.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Responsible for incident /service request handling. Monitoring and resolving the Remedy tickets within SLA period in a daily basis using Remedy Tool.

• Administers servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, Smart phones, software deployment, security updates and patches.

• Involved in troubleshooting day-to-day activities of desktops/laptops physically and via remotely.

• Troubleshooting Outlook issues, configuring outlook for employees, PST Creation, PST files cracking and retrieving data.

• Troubleshooting in desktops and laptops for hardware/software issues.

• Maintaining and updating Periodic McAfee Anti-virus DAT version in all workstation using EPO server.

• Bit Locker Configuration and recovery in windows laptops.

• Administering the Desktop machines from remotely by using a remote tool such as DAME WARE UTILITY.

• Deploying basic software in Windows Deployment Service or server to install all kind of windows operating systems.

• Installing Patch updates and Pushing Software from the System

• Software’s installation like SQL Server, Visual Studio, Oracle, and other Microsoft, sun, IBM products based on the project requirements.

• Installing and troubleshooting VDI interfaces such as VMware view and Citrix client.

• Network printer configuration for the projects

• Providing first level network support for the issues and Co- ordinate with network team.

• Involve and actively participate in migration/project activities.

• Basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills, Monitors networks to ensure security and availability to specific users.
