ACADEMIC PROJECTS

● Modeling of V-G bidirectional battery charger for electricvehicles. Proposed a new control strategy for bidirectional battery charger which can charge or discharge an electric vehicle battery in both expeditious and leisurely mode. This allows peak load severing & leveling, voltage regulation and improvements of power system stability. This project explores a novel approach to introduce the V2G concept which benefits both government power utilities and EV holders.This concept is implemented by using PID controlled DC/DC converter, Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor’s(IGBT)& Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation(SPWM) techniques.

● Proximity sensor using 8051micro-controllers.

Built a schematicboardby interfacing micro-controller and relay module that can detect the presence of objects within its vicinity without any actual physical contact in Keil and Proteus PCB designing environment.

● IR Remote Controlled home automationproject.

Designed and developed IR remote control transmitter and receiver circuits using 555 timer and J-K flip-flop electronic devices that helps connecting gadgets at ease and operate them from comfort of bed or chair.

Odisha Hydro Power Corporation LTD - Intern

● OHPC is a Public Sector Undertaking of Government of Odisha is incorporated under the Companies Act(1956) on 21 April 1995 with an objective of establishing, operating, maintaining, renovating & modernizing hydro, thermal and other forms of power generating stations.

● The role is to understand the salient operations of main equipment like butterfly and main valves, turbines and control panel to identify the working of generating units.

● To perceive on protection of EHV alternator units and control systems utilizingdifferent types of relays and circuit breakers to analyze and identify various types of powerfaults.

● Learn the distinguish various arc quenching techniques of different types of circuit breakers and also notice the key function of buchholz relay in high voltage power transformer.

Battery is needed in PV system to store the excess energy from the sun and release the power to the system again when it is needed. To enhance a system performance the battery performance is to be increased.

To analyse the effect of temperature and load current on battery performance, the standard equivalent circuit of battery is considered first and then the equivalent circuit is simulated.

The parameters like State of charge (SOC) and depth of charge (DOC) which play an important role for optimum performance has been studied and analyzed in Simulink & MATLAB environment. EXTRACURRICULARACTIVITIES
