Assistant Materials Manager
Multi-plant location, manage day-to day Materials functions.
Managed one of our facilities inside the GM Lake Orion plant; we were a lean management team so we were responsible for multiple roles. I managed customer service, inventory control, shipping and receiving, MRO crib responsibility including purchasing, inventory, scheduling transportation and supplier on-time delivery. I developed and trained a cycle counting team to conduct weekly cycle counts. Prepared and facilitated yearly physical inventories. I trained my replacement for our Orion plant in order to launch a new FCA plant on our Detroit campus. After the successful launch I was tasked with going back to our Orion location to close the facility due to the end of our contract. After the facility was closed I went back to our Detroit campus where I managed our FCA plant; which included, but not limited to, customer service, shipping and receiving, inventory control, managing FCA portal, scheduling rack repairs, training and cross training associates.
