2005-Present Senior Mechanical Designer Engineer, Custom Powder Systems, LLC, Springfield, MO
I designed material handling equipment for the pharmaceutical industry. My duties included the development of prototype equipment as well as improvements to existing designs. I was instrumental in creating libraries of standard parts and components which substantially improved throughput for the engineering department. I utilized software tools to improve the appearance and quality of operator manuals and sales presentations. I developed a spreadsheet driven model of a bin which will produce a complete set of working drawings and a bill of material for a bin with just a few keystrokes. I worked with AUTOCAD and INVENTOR.

I designed material handling equipment. My duties included producing presentation drawings, shop drawings and bills of materials for the machinery I designed. In addition to the mechanical aspect of the equipment, I also worked on control circuits, including electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic. I compiled operator’s manuals for the equipment I designed. I also created a company manual on column lifts for use in engineering and sales alike. I worked with AUTOCAD and INVENTOR.

My responsibilities included the design and development of stainless steel industrial food processing equipment such as fryers, ovens and coating machines. I worked with various mediums of heat transfer including gas, electric, steam and thermal fluid. I compiled operator’s manuals for all equipment. I was instrumental in bringing the engineering department up to date by implementing CAD-KEY drafting software and demonstrating expertise in its use.
1991-1993Design drafter, Meyer Metalcraft, Windsor, MO
My responsibilities included the design and development of stainless steel industrial food processing equipment and material handling equipment. I also designed control circuits for much of the machinery. All drafting was performed with CAD-KEY drafting software.
1985-1986 Project engineer Omeco Boss Co., Omaha, NE
I designed and developed material handling equipment. I was one of the first in the company to be equipped with a cad system. I was able to substantially reduce drafting hours by inputting standard equipment into VERSA-CAD libraries.
1983-1985 Design engineer, Automated Concepts., Omaha, NE
I designed and developed special automated equipment. I worked in partnership with GM Fanuk robotics. I developed skills with the AUTOCAD beta version and instructed others as to its use.
1981-1983 Draftsman, GNC Inc. Council Bluffs, IA
I developed packing house equipment. I procured raw material and components for fabrication of the equipment. I acted as shop foreman in the absence of other authority.
