My time studying at Georgetown University provided me with the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in this position. Major courses I took included pathophysiology, pharmacology, advanced health assessment, and primary care of the family I-IV. Each of these courses required extensive reading, discussions, case studies, presentations, and modules in which I was able to apply knowledge taught during class to real scenarios. In my current role at Cardiac and Vascular Consultants, I have developed the skills and knowledge necessary to provide direct total care and adhere to standard guidelines to specific cardiac problems. I work to identify the needs of patients and work collaboratively with physicians and allied health professionals to provide solutions and execute successful outcomes with appropriate follow up. Additionally, in this role as a Nurse Practitioner, I provide education to patients on topics including disease processes, medications, and tertiary care. I believe these experiences allow me to successfully deliver onsite care for both acute and chronic illnesses with emphasis on wellness and prevention.

While attending clinical rotations, I provided services including head-to-toe physicals, comprehensive history taking, collaborative treatment plans, and developed lasting patient- provider relationships. This went hand in hand with my studies in advanced health assessment, in which I studied disease symptoms, presentations, and management.
