PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Having moved to Canada for personal reasons, I am at present a part time clinical fellow based in Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario, Canada. I work closely with Dr Amit Garg who has been a pioneer in various national and international projects in the field of clinical nephrology and living donor transplantation. My aim would be to gain the necessary experience and expertise in conduct of large scale clinical research projects in nephrology concentrating on the field of acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease (Uncertain etiology ) and women’ health in nephrology.

Previous Work Experience:

Associate Prof in Nephrology, Head of Department, Nephrology, K.S. Hegde Academy, Mangalore – Jan 2016 to Sep 2019

Associate Professor and Head at the Dept of Nephrology at K.S Hegde Medical Academy with focus on undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The institution has a 1000 bedded hospital and I was the in charge of the smooth functioning of the unit. My focus and aim during my tenure was to enhance and develop the departmental clinical research activities and make it a regional access center for nephrology clinical research activity. In this regard a restricted grant research grant towards diabetic nephropathy research was issued to the department and the NITTE University and this project is still ongoing at the moment.

Jun 2015- June 2016 : Completed the Global Clinical Scholar Training programme(GCSRT) of the Harvard Medical School a comprehensive research methodology and biostatistics program. Being part of this program has given me the opportunity to liaison and work with various professionals from around the globe and also given me operational knowledge of STATA with the initial fundamentals of biostatistics .

Consultant nephrologist at a private charitable and voluntary funded hospital with a 20 bedded hemodialysis centre with 80-85 CKD patients on maintenance hemodialysis.

2) Principal co-ordinator for study of CKD-U and modification of disease with oral probiotics… this project is done in association with the Govt of Telangana and Kibow Biotechnologies.
