Institution: University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Mentor: Dr. Anil Kumar
Project Title: Performance analysis of reservoir using production data of 15/9-F-1C Volve Field Description: The reservoir was identified as undersaturated oil reservoir with partial water drive and then percentage of different Drive Indexes were calculated. Waterflooding was then done in order to increase the recovery and reduce the Depletion Drive Index.
Winter Internship Project:

Project Title: Bytes to Barrels: Analogue for Real-Time Drilling Assistant Mentor: Dr. Atul Kumar Patidar
Description: Machine learning based approach was taken to predict lithology on the basis of seven real time drilling parameters which directly affects ROP. Logistic regression was used as the first learning model to predict lithologies but it failed to give good results then artificial neural network was used in this project and it gave good results but failed to predict the lithologies which are in smaller number and then KNN algorithm was used to predict lithologies which gave an accuracy of 93%.

Project Title: Analysis of Methane Gas Hydrates in Drilling and Production using Numerical Methods Mentor: Dr. Harinandan Kumar
Description: Methane Hydrates dissociate upon a decrease of pressure, increase of temperature, or combinations, Thereof, premature dissociation around the wellbore and within annulus must be avoided during the drilling process. Therefore, in this project phenomena of heat transfer from wellbore to methane hydrate deposits is simulated, in order to investigate whether the changes induced in the near wellbore regions are within the accepted limits or not.
