11/2006 to 05/2020 Network Engineer
Outreach Health Services Inc. Richardson (Work From Lubbock Office), TX I was responsible for all the Voice and Data of a large 40 site Home Health Care Company.
I built the voice and data networks back in the early 2000's. All of our sites were networked together with VoIP riding on the data network. At one point the company had 110 offices, I contracted with a few companies for a little help. We had 2 tier's of helpdesk support, I was the only tier 2 network support engineer, there were about 5 tier 1 support engineers that were a huge help with small issues.
Our Data network consisted of Fiber and Copper MPLS circuits along with VPN connections. We used a combination of BGP, OSPF, and GRE routing. Our internet connections are also on a Fiber network.
I was also a Airplane Pilot for the company.
05/1996 to 11/2006 Telecommunications Engineer
ICS Telephones Dallas, TX
ICS was the largest Mitel and Toshiba Dealer in Dallas Tx. I was the lead Toshiba Tech and assistant lead Mitel Tech. I had 4 cable/installation crews under me. I designed, programmed, and implemented each system assigned to my team. I assisted the sales team on appointments with technical info. I troubleshot problems with the Network and Telco providers. Loved this job but owners sold the business and I left to go to Outreach which was one of our largest EDUCATION AND TRAINING
customers.
Electrical Engineering/Computer Science
Texas Tech University Lubbock, TX
As a senior at Tech, I left and started my own company with a friend of mine. I did not graduate, I ended up about 26 hours short. The computer science major was already obsolete in the late 1980's. Technology was moving faster than the education industry could keep up with. Basically I was coding on Main Frame Computers as the Personal Computers were hitting. Wrong time period for that Major.
