Research Studies & Achievements

Issue: Water Traces (Moisture) found in Siemens 8BK80 Switchgears while conducting preventive maintenance activity.

Issue: Suspect Alarms/Nuisance Alarms found in DCS System. This created confusions to the engineers and operators in charge of the 6No.s of 66/11KV S/S. Also mismatch created between our DCS system and KAHRAMAA (Qatar Electricity Board) DCS system.

Issue: Energy Conservation Study (First of its kind in Qatar Airport History). After the successful running of the new airport. This was the first detailed Energy Conservation Study that was conducted.

Won 3rd place at Line Follower Robotic Event and 2nd place in Circuitous (Circuit Design) at National Level Symposium EUPRAXIA 2K11 held at SSN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, Chennai.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Assisting the Engineering Manager in Maintenance of various substations of 110KV/11KV capacity, lighting, motor, pumps, generators thereby reducing the downtime.

Initiating an expansion project from the conceptual stage to handing over resultant projects to the clients before the estimated time thereby increasing 15% profit.

Initiating and establishing the Life Cycle process, Asset management policy, developing strategies, asset management planning, implementing and checking its capability.

Evaluating the risk involved in the work carried out and make appropriate data for decision making.

Client: HAMAD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (HIA) Doha, Qatar.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Assisted the General Manager, HOD (Airports) in Project Management of 6 No’s 66KV/11KV substation and its allied HT & LT equipments and 4 No’s of Central Utility Plants (CUP’s), Water Treatment Plants and its associated equipments such as chillers, HVAC equipments thereby reducing downtime to almost NIL.

Assisted the DGM (Design and Construction) in the design of Pumping stations, Additional WWTP, CUP-5 from conceptual design stage to the final stage and handing over the projects to the HIA authorities for verification and approvals.

Established and Maintained Asset Management framework by initiating policies and getting it endorsed by all authorities connected and assisted the Asset Performance Manager in collection, update and auditing of asset data such that the integrity of asset data and information is maintained.

Developed the asset management policy by initiating a strategic planning exercise to determine the goals and objectives (short, medium, long), determine the asset management outputs, formulate policy statements from the outputs also checking its achievability and adopt policy at the executive level.

Controlled & Issued the inventory of materials and spares by effective material planning. This has reduced the procurement of spares and there by revenue loss.

Prepared the Scope of work for the job to taken, planning its mode of work(switching etc), manpower, materials to be used, inquire about other departments if needed while working

Duties involved in co-ordination the Electrical Operation & Maintenance activities (viz. Preventive, Break down and Shut down) of 110 KV substation and its allied HV switch gears, LV Panels, MCCs, PCCs etc.

Coordination of electrical activities of distribution transformers upto 750 KVA, its tripping relays and breakers, analyzing equipment failure, Testing.
