POSITION: Lead Substation Electrical Engineer

HIGHLIGHTS OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

•12+ years of professional experience in Electrical Power systems which include both in Power Utility and EPCM (consultant) environment.

•Experience in Transmission and Distribution (Power Utility), Substation design (Indoor/Outdoor, Greenfield/Brownfield), Substation complete estimation and proposal, Project Engineering and Project Management

•Worked in multiple utility projects and proposals i.e., PGE, PG&E, BPA, IPA, SRP, HECO, ENMAX (Canada), AltaLink (Canada) etc.

•Managed multiple Substation and Transmission line projects (Up to 500kV – Maximum program value $100M with multiple Substation and Transmission lines, Design build / Design only)

•Supervised and managed a group of about twenty (20) project team members directly and another twenty (20) people indirectly (dotted line reporting).

•Working knowledge on Substation Civil and Transmission Line design and construction process

•OSHA 10 Hour Certification

•Knowledge and experience in Project Management principles and processes

•Skilled in reading, interpreting and implementing various electrical codes such as NEC, CSA, IEEE, IEC, NEMA and ANSI

•Canadian citizen and P. Eng.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Plan, lead and managed all the major substation and transmission lines projects within the program

•Managed project scoping, schedule, budget, quality, safety and all the five processes of project life cycle from Initiation to Closing.

•Worked with several Managers from different discipline – Quality, Financial, Construction, Environment, Land, Procurement and Asset to improve cross-functional processes and activities

•Managed all Engineering subgroup including resource management.

•Lead the contractor/consultant selection and awarding process and managed contractor’s work

•Managed project procurement for major substation and Transmission Lines equipment as well as other materials

•Managed permit and license activities, prepared energization application documents and other regulatory documentation for AESO (Alberta Electric System Operator)

•Managed team (internal/external) communication and coordination.

•Identified project risks to schedule, cost and quality. Worked with Project team to mitigate those risks

•Followed company policy, standard and procedure to meet client expectations

•Ensured the submission of all deliverables (design, drawings, study reports, commissioning reports inspection and test Plan, scope of work, project quality plan, monthly reports, project manual etc.) on a timely manner

•Designed and reviewed Substation design - One Line Diagram, Three Line Diagram, Schematic Diagrams, Connection Diagrams, Pre-fab Control Building package, Control Room Rack Layout, SCADA drawings, AC/DC Distribution Drawings, Substation Plan and Elevation drawings, Grounding design

•Developed Engineering Work Management Process for ENMAX Corporation – Intensive 12 weeks of work with the external consultant to chalk out the detailed engineering work process, prepare documentation, flow chart, implementing the process, complete multiple presentation to all Stakeholders and provide training.

•Planning and development of manufacturing systems, quality control activities and Packaging systems

•Involved in recruitment, training and development, for all new hires

•Responsible for annual performance review, training and development for all direct reports.
