Position: Travel Nurse Practitioner

Job Description: Work involves travelling to various hospitals within the organization to render assistance and cover for Advanced Practical Providers on leave or absent from work for any reason.

Due to the nature of the position, the job entails working in different hospital environments. As a consequence, considerable flexibility is an inherent characteristic of the job requirements, in that it necessitates practitioners to learn, become acquainted with and adjust to various hospital systems and physicians within very short time periods, in order to ensure an efficient and continuous flow of health care services.

Duties required a consultations and rounding on patients. The job requires appropriate triage in order to evaluate the relevant GI procedures that are scheduled to be performed on a daily basis. On a busy day, as many as 19 patients can be seen.

Job Description: Job included both inpatient and outpatient duties. While working in the hospital, I was responsible for rounding on cardiac patients and seeing new admissions. Duties also included supervising various stress tests such as: ETT, stress echo and nuclear studies. Stress tests were performed in a hospital setting and clinical setting.

Job Description: Duties included day/night shift rotation of a sixteen-bed facility, providing direct nursing care to critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring and treatments for an array of disease processes. The job required knowledge of thrombolytic therapy, hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilators, post-operative care for patients following extensive surgery, various heart diseases such as acute MI’s, CHF, coronary insufficiency, dysrhythmia and unstable angina. As part of my duties, I also served as a preceptor for new nurses.
