The Orthopaedic & Spine Institute, San Antonio, TX August 2016 – April 2017 Provided exceptional care and evaluated 16-20 patients a day on how they should each be cared for due to their specific symptoms and based off physical exam, x-ray, MRI/CT scan, or other neurological testing devices to help decipher treatment. Patients with other orthopedic concerns were treated as well. Treatments included injection therapy and also referring for certain injections that take place under anesthesia and ultrasound. Patients were also referred to surgery if physical exam and other indications were present. I was involved in personal injury cases and cared for post op patients as well.

UTHSCSA PA-S Program, San Antonio, TX July 2015 – June 2016 1 year Clinical Rotations involved 1 month in 12 disciplines: Dermatology, General Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, and 5 Primary care Rotations, 3 were in the Bexar County Jail where I performed the majority of my procedures. CAMP GET FIT, a 1- month rotation, was an educational camp based in Cotulla, TX, where we educated, provided Fit activities to children, and delivered dietary lectures to the children and parents.

Over the past 3 years as a Physician Assistant I have worked in urgent cares and orthopedic spine clinic. While working in these two fields I performed various orthopedic injections, treated post-op outpatients, performed procedures such as suturing and I&D’s, ordered and interpreted different diagnostic tests, and am equipped with ample pharmaceutical knowledge. Currently DOT certified and experienced in worker’s compensation cases. My occupational capabilities include: ability to work nights, weekends, various office hours, see and treat 4-5 patients/hour with great care, master and train others for different EMR systems. My main priority is to not only treat patients but to be compassionate, caring, and always let them know that they received the care that they deserve and instill them with a feeling that they won’t find any other place that will provide better care. Health & Fitness Coordinator & Independent Living Facilitator Brazos Valley Center for Independent Living, Bryan, TX May 2013 – Dec 2013 Provided compassionate health-oriented classes to my fellow constituents. Most constituents were either intellectually disabled, autistic, or had other disabilities that limited them from a physical standpoint. Coordinated physical education and dietary classes to help meet health oriented goals, met with parents and students to familiarize those involved with their specific goal-oriented plans, and instilled the skills my constituents needed to increase their independence. My other duties included coordinating several meetings with outside organizations to help advance our cause and touring other facilities that housed or provided work for those with various disabilities.
Collegiate Internship (500 hours)
Central Texas Heart Center, College Station, TX January 2013 – May 2013 5-month rotation that involved being placed in a Cardiologist office and running live stress test. My objective was to observe, participate and lead Bruce-Protocol Stress Tests and administer chemically induced stress test correctly. I also assisted in the nuclear imaging facility and was allowed to shadow multiple cardiologists. The experience allowed me take the lead and construct a new Emergency Protocol in the case of terminating the Bruce Protocol due to patient complications.

Church Under the Bridge

Volunteered at Church Under the Bridge, large church that catered to the less fortunate. Tuesday, Thursdays, and Sundays serve large meals with other organizations that not only donated their time but food, service to prepare the food, and time to lead worship services. Volunteered for a UTHSCSA endeavor, that incorporated the multiple disciplines including: physician assistants, dentistry, pharmacists, doctors, respiratory therapists, nurses, and dental hygienists to all work together and provided care for specified individuals in the community. Together we performed tests, exams, and discussed how we could all incorporate our practices
