The Satellite & Cable TV Specialist will be based at one of four PAE locations in Iraq and will be associated with the Site Services section. This position is responsible for performing satellite TV and communications cable requirements and reports to the Technical Services Manager. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

DUTIES:

Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.

Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.

Schedule maintenance and repair of office and residential satellite and cable television network services.

Maintain all government-furnished equipment including satellite dishes, Scientific Atlanta decoders, antennae controllers, satellite modems, up/down converters and digital satellite receivers.

Maintain fiber optic cables and equipment such as cards, power supplies, racks and wall jacks.

Install, dress, and label Cat 5, RJ-45, Splicing fiber optic cable single mode and multimode with fujikura, Installing fiber optic connectors with unicam

Drive a service truck and operate other vehicles.

Participate in equipment inventories.

Develop and present training classes.

Prepare and submit detailed purchase requests for satellite and cable TV consumables and equipment.

Prepare and submit reports on scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency satellite, cable TV, and FM radio WO for the BDSC Radio/Satellite TV Lead.

Participated as part of a successful and diverse cross functional, cross-cultural IT / COMMO team, providing IT site network infrastructure start-up implementation and project support within the Baghdad Victory Base Complex, Camp Liberty, Iraq, surrounding the Baghdad International Airport (BIAP), supporting Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

Analyzed small-to-mid scale IT / COMMO projects in coordination with management, involving accurate technical assessment, appropriate estimation of materials and equipment, and coordination with management assuring appropriate entities, e.g., US Military and essential support elements were enlisted (as necessary), ensuring successful project execution.
