Civil Engineer seeking an opportunity to manage total project delivery using in-house and/or external resources for major infrastructure construction and rehabilitation projects, including roadways, transit ways, structures, sewers, water mains, pumping stations, treatment works, drainage works, lighting, solid waste/landfill sites, cycling facilities, traffic calming, transit improvements, streetscaping and related underground utilities. Great organizational qualities with the ability for supporting the whole phases of the project delivery, from project inception through consultant selection, public consultation, pre-design, detailed design, tendering, and award, to construction. Competent in all aspects of the Municipal Infrastructure Engineering, capable to monitor, track and report on project status, approve all project expenditures, arrange all project related testing, and handle commissioning/turnover to operating branches; as well as manage assignments and/or projects that are highly complex, and involve public consultation, environmental assessment and/or extend over multiple years. Innovative thinker with the ability to participate in project identification, prioritization and planning; organize environmental impact assessment and other studies at all stages of the project lifecycle; along with contribute to the review/development of department engineering standards, and carrying out assigned duties.

Achieved a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Project Management Professional Certificate

More than ten years of progressive professional experience in the planning, design and construction of municipal infrastructure including more than five fears of project management experience.

Proficiently engineering planning, design, operations and construction/rehabilitation of municipal structures, infrastructure and utilities, infrastructure condition assessment, and life cycle costing

Familiar with all applicable health and safety legislation; as well as knowledge of appropriate actions to be taken in order to ensure the health and safety of staff in accordance with applicable legislations.

Knowledge of related federal, provincial and engineering legislation, regulations, standards, codes and by-laws pertaining to environmental impact assessment, building, fire, health and safety, construction

Graduate coursework in water resources, hydrology and hydraulics, environmental engineering, and project management principles, including cost containment/control and reporting, tendering processes, etc.

Ability for conducting environmental impact assessments; as well to process Developing Request for Qualifications & Requests for Proposals, including acceptance, review and selection of consulting engineers.

Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and computer applications in an engineering environment pertaining to municipal design, project and construction management: Saga Timberline, Primavera, Microstation etc.

Capable to prepare formal RFQ's and RFP's; review, analyze and recommend acceptance of proposals;

Excellent verbal and writing skills, along to communicate effectively to internal councillor and general public inquiries and/or complaints; as well as present technical material in formats conducive to various audience

Capable to supervise activities of technical staff, consultants, contractors; co-ordinate activities with other levels of governments and external agencies; as well as manage complex and highly sensitive projects

Valid Ontario unrestricted "G" class driver’s license and no more than 6 demerit points accumulated
