Responsible for collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) and technical experts to understand processes and procedures within the agency. Developed User Help documentation using RoboHelp. Also used Framemaker, HTML, and CSS in the development and editing of enterprise policies and help documentation.
Jul 2016 – Aug 2018: Master Trainer, Technical Writer & Project Manager– Wright & Associates (USAID): Master Cyber Security trainer. Developed multiple role-based cyber security training courses and delivered weekly cyber security training courses to personnel in the USAID agency. Nov 2008 – Jun 2014: Technical Writer, Instructional Designer, Content Manager – SRA International (Washington, DC): Supported multiple government agencies as an Instructional Designer, Technical Writer, and Trainer. As a Senior Instructional Designer, developed ILT and web-based courses (Captivate and Articulate 360). As a technical writer and content manager, managed and developed criminal investigative and forensics procedures, manuals, IT asset management and governance policies, ServiceNow procedures and guidelines, software and API documentation, and training material for the United States Secret Service, as a member of the Criminal Investigative Division (CID) Java Development Team. Provide technical editing and technical writing for a team of software and database developers, to include software testing. As a technical editor / technical writer and content manager, developed and edited many documents, processes, and workflows in accordance with ITIL guidelines for the USDA’s MIDAS project to include security documentation for the project. Developed User Help documentation using MadCap Flare. In support of the Department of Defense’s Army Enterprise Service Desk (AESD) project, developed the agency communication plan, user guides, help desk documentation and process diagrams, help file documentation, and knowledge management system in support of their help desk functions. Academic program design and development included syllabi development, textbook selection, integration with other academic programs, conducting Program Advisory Council meetings, and adherence with accreditation guidelines and standards. Designed academic programs in Information Security, Homeland Security, Wireless Communications, and Visual Basic Programming. Nov 2004 – July 2007: Project Manager – Brandon Technology Consulting (Fredericksburg, VA): As an IT Services Program Manager, responsible for the oversight and tracking of multiple information assurance, database development, and network support projects. Project manager for extensive security audit of the Department of Veteran Affairs, including software and hardware audits and compliance with certification and accreditation requirements, including hardware and software compliance, security plans and policies, and investigation procedures (computer forensics investigations). As a corporate trainer, developed a one-day and three-day Information Assurance and Auditing training course in support of a military customer.

UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter Company Commander from 1995 to 1997: Responsible for 150 soldiers and 15 Blackhawk helicopters valued over $78 million and a budget in excess of $4 million. Conducted Air Assault missions in the harsh Alaskan environment. Earned Senior Army Aviator Flight Wings.
Chief, Network Management and Executive Officer at the Pentagon from 1997 to 2000: Responsible for the network maintenance, performance, and configuration of the data networks in the Pentagon, including the routers, switches, and firewalls supporting all services at the Pentagon. Responsible for the network intrusion detection team, modified router access control lists, modified firewall configurations, and conducted network forensics investigations. As Executive Officer, developed business processes, Organizational Business Plan, and the Organizational Enterprise Model.
Other Leadership and Staff Officer Positions: Scout Platoon Leader - deployed platoon to Operation Desert Storm; awarded the Air Medal for performance during Operation Desert Storm. Selected for the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award.
