ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversees, evaluates, and coordinates passenger ship's design and engineering. Performs liaison and coordination with Shipyard and all appropriate regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with Shipbuilding codes, Health, Environmental, Safety, and Security Company standards. Organizes project meetings and provides leadership by using effective verbal and written communication to manage the Shipyard, Architects, and consultants as well the project team in all phases of the work. This includes developing and motivating teamwork between all parties. Reviews drawings and specifications submitted by Shipyard, Architects, and designers considering functionality and operational needs within the allocated budget. Identifies opportunities to optimize construction and operational costs through value engineered processes. Develops project planning and scheduling tools identifying critical paths and key milestones. Prepares reports that provide the status of the projects to executive management. Manages project site team activities. Coordinates and schedules the work assignment of support staff and consultants. Manages and coordinates the procurement of Owner’s Furnished Materials with the company procurement department and Shipyard. Has held the position of 1st Electronics Officer since 1997, and managing a team of electro technical officers and petty officers for the repair and maintenance of communication, entertainment, security, and navigational/electronic systems. 1. Effectively and efficiently manages all onboard electronic equipment, including communications systems, following Company policies and procedures.
2. Effectively coordinates and promptly assigns repair work resulting from incoming defect chits of the Hotel I Deck I Technical Department and works closely with all departments to ensure smooth operations. 3. Immediately reports all electronics and communications equipment damage or malfunction to the Staff Electro Technical Officer. 4. Works closely with the Senior Technical Storekeeper to ensure enough stock of spare parts and consumables that are held on board to cover planned and unplanned maintenance at all times.
