RESEARCH EXPERIENCES

Research Engineer, UB Center for Hearing and Deafness, Buffalo, NY August 2018 – May 2019

•Assisted in the preliminary research design to conduct vestibular ocular reflex (VOR) tracking in experimental mice, a precursor to study the delayed response of gDAP1 knockout mice that mimics the effects of Charcot-Marie Tooth Syndrome. Using of ISCAN ETL-200 software as a pupil tracker, it was calibrated with rotation board attached to a velocity sensor. LEDs were set up to measure pupillometry driven by a pulse generator. On the rodent, IM anesthesia into it's lower limbs for a surgical craniotomy for mounting metal headpiece under aseptic sterilized technique and administration of analgesics post-surgery. From there, mice acclimation during fixation of head post to head implant allowed for testing of VOR.

Research Assistant, SCoPE Lab, University at Buffalo August 2018 – April 2019

•Conducted multiple research roles in the SCoPE Lab for the following studies: Stress, Coping Mechanisms, and Prosocial Engagement Lab, Meditation and The Self Lab, The Study of Goal Pursuit. Using a software, AcqKnowledge program was used to measure and heart rate through EKG monitoring by attachment of electrodes for ECG/ICG and blood pressure to find the physiological effects of stress.
