M.Tech Final Year Project
Title: Optimization of Process Parameter in EDM of HASTELLOY C-276 Using DEMATEL Technique.
Description: Hastelloy Alloy C has major importance to the chemical process industry, Modification of the chemical composition produced Hastelloy Alloy C-276, which is more resistant to the precipitation of grain boundary particles than Alloy C. In the present work Hastelloy C-276 is used to make the spur gear by using the wire EDM. Experimental studies are conducted on alloy C-276. The spur gear is design by using NXCAD 12 software. In this paper Machining experiments are conducted according to the Taguchi experimental design (L27) for different parameters combination such as (Ton, Toff, wire feed, gap voltage). The experimental responses such as metal removal rate, surface roughness, Electrode wear rate are measured and also the influence of machining parameters like Pulse on time (Ton), pulse off time (Toff), wire feed (WF), and gap voltage on metal removal rate (MRR), surface roughness (SR), Electrode wear rate (EWR) is studied. The relationship between inputs and outputs machining responses are done using DEMATEL. The optimal process parameters are identified by using Grey relation analysis. And also the influences of machining parameters on individual machining response of alloy C-276 are studied under Analysis of variance. Team Size: 1

Description: Cryogens are effective thermal storage media which, when used for automotive purposes, offer significant advantages over current and proposed electrochemical battery technologies, both in performance and economy. An automotive propulsion concept is presented which utilizes liquid nitrogen as the working fluid for as open Rankin cycle. The Principle of operation is like that of a steam engine, except there is no combustion involved. Liquid nitrogen is pressurized and then Vaporized in a Heat exchanger by the ambient temperature of the surrounding air.
