In this role, I reported on onshore and offshore upstream oil and gas industry, with a primary focus on upstream technology and Mexico’s oil and gas industry. I also reported on discoveries, field development, employment, mergers and acquisitions. My articles and blogs appeared on the Rigzone and DownstreamToday websites and in Rigzone’s annual Career Guide for the Offshore Technology Conference.
I also aided the managing editors of Rigzone and Downstreamtoday by filling in for them in their absence. Duties included editing and posting staff-written articles and newswire stories in the company’s content management system, sending out daily commodity price newsletter, and managing the editorial calendar.
In addition, I represented the company by serving as panel moderator, keynote speaker, and master of ceremonies at oil and gas industry events.

My role included writing, editing, and managing graphics and layout for Atlantis, a monthly deepwater publication. This publication featured analytical articles based on the company’s proprietary data, as well as news stories on deepwater activity.
Other duties included writing and editing for the company’s news website Energy Current, which featured not only on upstream oil and gas news, but LNG and renewable energy. My beat included LNG and geothermal.
I was responsible for training and mentoring reporters for The Offshore International Newsletter and Gulf of Mexico Newsletter. I also edited the weekly newsletters before they went to print.
I also wrote a weekly press release that featured company data on the global offshore rig fleet status.
