Analysis of Chinese Silly String Product: Project was to analyze silly string from Chinese manufacturer to find safer alternatives and to facilitate a move to American production. The project required critical thinking and foresight due to a shortage of resources and staff. The project required communication with those with little experience in chemistry jargon and ideas.

Counter Current Liquid-Liquid Extraction: Optimized a multi-stage liquid-liquid extraction process that would provide the highest yield of Lithium and Magnesium while avoiding the extraction of Calcium. Operated tests and alterations to achieve this goal based off titration curves and media flow ratios. Synthesized extractant for the extraction process.

Ferrate Production: Used knowledge of electrolysis to produce ferrate off of a steel anode and stainless steel cathode. Harvested ferrate “cakes” from plate and frame filter for further analysis on yield and purity. RELEVANT COURSEWORK
