In my role as care assistant, I worked in a busy environment attending to children with cerebral palsy and other related disabilities. My day to day responsibilities for this include;

• Client Transfer: Safely lifting more or less 100 pounds and push more weight in wheelchairs.

• Helping the clients with all the aspects of daily care such as toileting, changing clothes and diapers, feeding and bathing after hydrotherapy session or haircutting and water play.

• Assisting teachers in conducting lessons such as cooking, cleaning, arts, academic, music and swimming.

• Helps in planning, preparing and serving snacks to clients according to diet.

• Transporting/Accompanying clients for school fieldtrips or outings, learning journey, school camps or mobility walks.

• Performing basic household tasks, providing client comfort and anxiety relief by promoting a safe and clean environment.

• Leadership and Management: Serves as the Leader who trains and acts a mentor for new employees and monitoring supplies and equipment, purchasing orders and uses spreadsheets regarding inventory and purchases. Supporting the management thru assigning relievers and duty allocations by doing roster every school term. Helps in documenting and organizing client's files during school holidays.

• Observes and reports changes in health status as well as physical and behavioral status and assessing their needs.

• Works together with other professionals such as therapists and psychologists in addressing the behavioral and rehabilitation needs of students.

In my role as a Nurse, I worked in a fast- pacing environment attending to different people with different needs. My duties and responsibilities are as follows:

• Educates patients in the outpatient clinic and provides post-operative care; responds to consultations made by physicians.

• Answers phone calls and enquiries, registers and oversees patient's schedules, appointments and procedures.

• Communicated changes in patient conditions and unit concerns and complied with the policies regarding safety and reporting requirements.

• Performs data collection by taking patient's histories, vitals and physical examinations; evaluates results and monitors treatment plans; counselled patients according to their health problems.

• Oversees patient's schedules appointments and procedure; attends and assist during surgical procedures by the attending physician and dentist and performs wound care, sterile dressing and even blood draws

• Participates in educational in- services and seminars for health care providers as well as the community; maintains current certification through continuing education.

• Restocked pharmacy and unit supplies.

• Obtaining certain lab specimens and charts observations and administered medications.

• Aided in patient comfort and safety by adjusting beds and bed rails, assisting in transfers and ambulation.
